I have designed a fully sustainable Christmas tree that can be created on any scale. I chose a corrugated board for the base to ensure stability and coconut coir for the tree structure. All decorative elements are handmade using pre-used and leftover crafting materials. The use of coconut coir and corrugated board ensures full recyclability, while the other materials can be easily repurposed.
The process,
1. folding the corrugated board into a cone shape
2. attaching cleaned and dyed coconut coir to mimic the look of a pine tree,
3. adorning it with handmade decorations.
This eco-friendly design highlights sustainability and creativity, aligning with the competition’s goals of reducing environmental impact and preserving festive aesthetics.
