“Can the absence of the literal Christmas tree become a luminaire but still serve the purpose?” is the question we asked before imagining what we could make.
Quite surprisingly yes it could be and also a luminaire could be there replacing the tree yet mingling with the activities associated with it.
The sustainability scope is addressed by using recyclable paper and reused paper to make the Paper Tree Cone ( which seems to be the light emitting component but it is lit with an LED floor-mounted spotlight which would be powered by charged Batteries with Solar Power, and also the decorating the tree by reusing last year’s Christmas deco which could last for many years.
The Paper Cone is hung and also letting it rotate while having a Floor light creates a lightweight appearance which is a contrast to having a much-weighted tree. Gifts could be placed at the Bottom of the tree as usual and the only thing is that there is no trunk and also a pot to balance it. In this way, this has eliminated more elements that demand different materials and since the light source is LED this could be powered with solar power at night.
