Entry #58 - by BIMA Lanka Insurance Brokers (Pvt) Ltd

Concept

For this unique competition, we took on the challenge of creating a Christmas tree without using any traditional materials. Our goal was to promote sustainability by crafting a festive tree entirely from recycled items, reinforcing the importance of reducing waste during the holiday season.

We engaged our BIMA employees by asking them to bring their lunch boxes and hand over any unused lunch sheets. These sheets were repurposed to create delicate flowers, adding a decorative and creative touch to our design. The foundation of the tree was made from an old tire, symbolizing the reuse of discarded materials. To build the structure, we layered and shaped old newspapers, giving the tree both form and texture. Finally, the lunch sheet flowers were applied to the tree, bringing life and color to our creation.

This project reflects our dedication to environmental responsibility and teamwork. By involving our employees and utilizing everyday materials, we demonstrated how collaboration and creativity can transform simple items into something extraordinary. Our tree stands as a reminder that the holiday spirit can thrive in harmony with sustainability, showcasing the beauty of reimagined materials.
